Sittingbourne-based Chalkwell Coach Hire & Tours is fitting its
fleet of buses and coaches with the Pinpointers Telematics solution.
The Company’s roots can be traced back to 1931 when Harry Eglinton
bought his first coach. The current operation uses 44 vehicles,
including executive coaches, double-decker buses and several
mini-coaches, and employs around 50 drivers.Work carried out includes the prestigious DayBreak and Holidays programme, coach hire, school contracts, London commuter service, rail replacement and local bus services.
“We were finding it increasingly more difficult and time
consuming to keep track of where each of our vehicles were at
any time of the day, so installing the coach tracking systems from
Pinpointers was an easy decision to make. We can now see exactly
where each bus and coach is, if its moving, how fast its going.
With the addition of door sensors on some vehicles, we also have
a permanent record of whether or not the doors were opened at a
particular stop, making it very easy to resolve any customer
disputes”.
